Therapist, speaker and trainer.

The creator of the STILL Method anxiety programs

Stuart Thompson has been a therapist for over 20 years and over that time has treated and supported many people with anxiety.  Stuart started his work life as a social worker.  Stuart is a senior award winning therapist and a Fellow of ACCPH.  In 2019 he was listed as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK and a finalist in the National Diversity Awards.

Stuart is an anxiety specialist and created The STILL Method to use with his clients, but soon realised that the program had the potential to help across the globe.  The STILL Method is now delivered in 7 countries and reaching more every year.

“My focus is helping my clients demystify the journey from anxiety to optimism and confidence. I think the “self help” industry has been dominated for such a long time by gurus and big bold characters, that can feel intimidating to ordinary people. I aim to make my work accessible, user friendly and fun. The STILL Method was created from a drive to help people live a life that was no longer impacted by anxiety.  I grew up with a disease that meant I could break bones incredibly easily and never growing much over 3 feet.  I looked very different from my peers. For a while this meant I became fearful and afraid of risks.  I realised that each of the things I was afraid of brought with it an opportunity.  I worked hard to turn that fear into excitement about the experiences that lie ahead. I then spent my career learning how to empower others to do the same.”

Stuart’s work on anxiety in children, teenagers and adults has been featured in the media including BBC and ITV news. Stuart currently has a busy schedule speaking to schools and businesses about how to help people overcome anxiety with the STILL Method and mentoring a team of over 60 STILL Method Coaches.
